Today’s DIY is a Book turned into a Planter.
Materials needed: Hard cover book, x-acto knife, spray adhesive, plastic container, rocks, soil and succulents.
This project has been on my to do list for a while. I love picking up hard cover books at the thrift store. Inexpensive and they are great for props, decorating, and even staging. My favorite book to find is a reader’s digest. Once you take the slip cover off the hard covers are gorgeous. Unfortunately I was out of luck on my last trip to the thrift store, so I chose this book to turn into a planter because it was green. I love succulents and creatively planting them, like in a seashell or painting pretty pots for them to go in.
Step One: Carve out a rectangle in the middle of your book with an x-acto knife. Don’t worry about getting it perfectly even since you’re filling it in.
Step Two: Glue pages together with spray adhesive.
Step Three: Line the inside of the edges with a plastic container. Cut to fit.
Step Four: Layer bottom with rocks, then soil, plant succulents and top off with decorative rocks.
